Spotlighting MASH’s Board This Trustees Week

by Annie Emery, CEO at MASH

November 6, 2024

Our award winning trustees are inspiring and such an incredible asset to MASH. They bring vital skills, knowledge and experience to ensure we can run an expertly governed organisation and offer a lifeline to the women we support.

Our trustees donate many hours behind the scenes. This can be attending meetings, reading and compiling papers, scrutinising reports and more to drive forward our work.

MASH’s board is responsible for making sure we are meeting all our legal and financial obligations as a charity. They support our myself as the CEO and MASH’s Senior Leadership Team in setting the strategy, forward plans and vision for MASH.

We are very fortunate to have a diverse board with a very broad skill set to support our work at MASH.

The team has expertise in equalities and inclusion, disability rights, marginalised, disadvantaged and excluded women, law, HR, health, fundraising, finance, lived experience, safeguarding and domestic abuse, leadership and VCSE infrastructure.

On behalf of all of us at MASH, we thank and celebrate all of our board members this Trustees Week.

Each board member is a passionate advocate for MASH and you can read more about them and their reasons for being a trustee at MASH here

We are MASH

For 30 years, MASH has stood by women who are sex working or thinking about it, offering non-judgemental support to improve health, safety and wellbeing.

We take MASH to women where they are at, offering support from our drop-in centre, our MASH van, in Manchester city centre, in saunas and via phone calls and home visits.

Women tell us that MASH helps them to feel safer, listened to, empowered and that in many cases it is a ‘lifeline’.
