Volunteers contribute to the vital services for our service women, whether it is giving them some biscuits and a hot drink at the Drop-in, or providing some crucial emotional support on the van to a woman in crisis. MASH wouldn’t be here without them.
In fact, MASH even began as a small team of volunteers back in 1991, so volunteers really are the backstory behind everything that we do.
Volunteers deserve to be appreciated. We do this in many ways, from a little ‘thank you’ after each session, to socials and away days together.
We have now developed another way of thanking volunteers; an award scheme for length of service, with certificates gifted with MASH-inspired names. If you have volunteered for us in the past or currently, you must know how popular pink wafers, cheese toasties and Greggs Bakes are!
Pink Wafer Award = 6 months of service
Cheese Toastie Award – 1 year of service
Greggs Bakes Award = 2 years of service
Here are three of our wonderful volunteers receiving theirs. Kirstie received her Greggs Bakes Award and Natalie & Georgia received their Cheese Toastie Award!
“Volunteers are the backbone of MASH and provide vital support to the women. These Awards are just a tiny way of showing our appreciation for the amazing work they do.”
