Jackie Driver, OBE
Chair
Jackie is the Associate Director for Equality and Inclusion at Greater Manchester Integrated Care.
She brings a wealth of expertise and experience to MASH including key specialisms in equality and human rights, public health, social mobility, disability rights and health inequalities. She was awarded an OBE in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday honours list for her exceptional contribution towards equality, diversity and inclusion.
Most recently, Jackie was recognised for making an outstanding contribution to protecting the public’s health during the COVID-19 pandemic, with her work to address the disproportionate impact of COVID in respect of ethnicity, migrancy and disability in Manchester.
Kath Eaton
Safeguarding lead
Kath is a registered nurse and midwife who has worked at Saint Mary’s Hospital for over 30 years in various roles. She is currently Head of Nursing for the Division of Newborn Services which provides care to premature and sick infants across the City of Manchester (North, Wythenshawe and central Manchester sites).
Kath is committed to service innovation and development and is passionate about the delivery of high quality services for all, monitoring and maintaining professional high standards.
Growing up in Cheetham Hill in Manchester, Kath has always wanted to support women who were sex working in her neighbourhood any way she could. After hearing about the amazing work MASH does and the non-judgmental way the service is delivered, Kath joined as a trustee. She loves that women can seek refuge at the MASH centre, and the van, and they can access support for their health and social needs – as well as finding a listening ear. Her involvement with MASH over the last three years has only strengthened her passion for being part of such a fabulous team that genuinely cares.
Andrea Anderson
HR, people and culture specialisms
Andrea is an experienced senior HR and OD professional with more than 20 years’ public sector experience, working across all aspects the people and transformation agenda. She likes to promote a positive work-life experience for everyone.
Andrea is involved in MASH as she is keen to support positive health and wellbeing for all the women who rely on its crucial services. She’s looking forward to ensuring those services are delivered by staff who are motivated and supported at work so that they can continue to be at their best at all times.
She has lived and worked in Greater Manchester for nearly all her career and is now raising her family here – it is one of the most vibrant and influential cities of the north.
Sarah Miguel
Finance and fundraising specialisms
Sarah Miguel brings a wealth of experience in Non Profit sectors, and is passionate about social justice.
She is the Director of Fundraising & Marketing at LGBT Foundation and serves on the Boards of FutureEverything and NEON. She previously held leadership roles at Safe Passage, Campaign Bootcamp and People’s History Museum.
She started volunteering for MASH in 2010. She feels that it’s a great privilege to serve as a trustee to support this vital lifeline of a service for women who sex work.
Made in Manchester, Sarah moved here in 2007 to study and the charm of the city that never sleeps has her truly enamoured, so she stayed and built a career here. She loves this city, in spite of the rain!
Helen Clayton
People, culture and services specialisms
Helen has over 15 years’ experience in fundraising and marketing for local charities, alongside some time at an infrastructure organisation and a national grant giving organisation. Helen worked at MASH for 5 years as the Fundraiser and when she left for another job role, she was delighted to join the board as a trustee.
Helen firmly believes in specialist services for women and that MASH is a shining example of trauma-informed approaches making a tangible difference in women’s lives. She is proud to be part of such a pivotal organisation that helps women to be safe and provides such warm care.
Helen is a proud Mancunian who grew up in Bury and still lives there with her lovely husband and family, bearded dragon, rats, fish and other assorted pets.
Naeed Nadia Khan AKA Nadia
HR, people & culture specialisms
Nadia has worked in HR and operations for over 20 years commencing at John Lewis Partnership and New Look and then moving into primary and secondary NHS, and a stint in Middle East and currently working for Civil Service. She has previously worked as a magistrate and a volunteer at Lancashire Women’s centre.
Nadia is passionate about equality and diversity and inclusiveness and particularly empowering women and giving us a voice, that’s not just spoken but heard. MASH is a service that empowers women no matter what our religious, cultural and society beliefs and/or stereotypes and she wants to be an advocate to ensure individuals are supported in the way they want. She wants to help break barriers on not talking about this area of work.
She took her first senior job at Central Manchester Primary Care Trust when it was based at Mauldeth House. Nadia loves Greater Manchester and it is her HOME!!!
Rachel Hurst
Treasurer, finance specialism
Rachel is a qualified accountant (fellow) with over 30 years’ service in the NHS. She has worked in a number of Greater Manchester based hospitals and trusts covering the majority of settings including acute, ambulance, mental health, commissioning and currently community services.
She brings to MASH the financial specialism we need to support our sustainability and growth, with a real focus on making finance accessible to support collaboration and decision making.
Rachel is service-user focused and believes in wrapping everything else around this. Rachel is passionate about ensuring that everyone has a voice and is heard – the work MASH does is vital in ensuring that women are able to access services that were previously difficult to access or did not exist. She is excited to see what the next few years bring in terms of changes, not just in attitudes and culture but the difference MASH can make to women’s lives.
Rachel is also a trustee of another local charity in her home city of Manchester.
Louisa Baxter
Vice chair, Justice, equity & diversity lead
Dr. Louisa Baxter is a public health doctor at consultant level, with experience of heading up health teams and responses in conflict zones and in response to global humanitarian crises. She has worked with some of most marginalised populations in the world, including intravenous drugs users and sex workers in Manchester, Syrian refugee families in Syrian and Europe, survivors of gender-based violence in Congo and Yemen and ten years as a hospital doctor in the National Health Service.
Louisa has served on technical working groups convened by WHO, UNHCR and Ministries of Health, including the UK domestic COVID response. Louisa is currently working with Medicines San Frontier (Doctors Without Borders).
Louisa was inspired to focus on health inequalities and humanitarian work whilst working as a volunteer at MASH over 20 years ago in her home city of Manchester, and feels very passionate about MASH, and the journey we’ve been on as an organisation. She is a passionate advocate of the rights, wellbeing and safety of sex workers, and is a champion of anti-racist and social justice practice.
Iram Kiani
Legal and governance specialisms
Iram is a Manchester born and bred lawyer, currently living in Trafford, who works primarily in the Higher Education sector.
Iram has extensive experience of providing legal and strategic advice to senior leaders on a wide range of matters, including charity law and governance. She has also advised on sensitive matters including cases involving safeguarding, sexual abuse, harassment, mental health, inquests and forced marriages. Iram was an elected staff governor on the Board of The University of Manchester, where she worked for almost ten years and has also been a secondary school governor.
Iram is delighted to be part of MASH for many reasons, but in particular because its core mission is to support and empower women who may otherwise not have a voice. She knows from personal experience what a difference it can make for a woman when they are provided with non-judgmental support.
This year, Iram is looking forward to getting to know more about the women that MASH works with and doing her best to help.
