It’s Bank Holiday Monday, what better way to celebrate than to showcase one our amazing volunteers?
Our volunteers are crucial to the running of our van, not only making up a pot noodle for women who are hungry or getting packs of condoms ready to keep women safe whilst working, but they also give vital social interactions.
Whether it is making a woman laugh, having a general chit-chat on the van or offering more in-depth emotional support, we couldn’t do it without our team.
Our outreach van goes out every night now except Saturday, supporting women who sex work within the City Centre, as well as Oldham, Rochdale and Bury.
Samara is one of our outreach volunteers. She is a kind and compassionate volunteer who always commits to at least one van shift a month. She works full-time yet still dedicates herself to volunteering. It is wonderful to see!

Nanette is another of our amazing outreach volunteers. She is reliable, dedicated and above all else has a heart of gold. She has been a volunteer since 2022 and makes sure to do at least one shift a month on the van. She was thrilled when she received her Cheese Toastie award for over 1 year of service and has now hit the two-year mark, earning herself the Greggs Bakes Award.
She is non-judgemental, approachable and her experience makes her great at speaking to the women
