We are looking for a nurse or experienced healthcare professional to undertake the role of Sexual Health Nurse at MASH supporting women sex working in Oldham, Rochdale and Bury (ORB). This is an exciting and varied role and would provide an excellent opportunity for the post-holder to develop skills and experience.

Purpose of the role
To work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes for women who sex work:
- To improve women’s health
- To improve women’s well being
- To support women to make informed choices
- To increase women’s safety
- To influence policy and practice changes in other agencies working with our client group
Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Nurse will work independently to deliver sexual health services to female sex workers across Oldham, Rochdale & Bury. It also involves working collaboratively with external stakeholders to improve health outcomes for women. This will involve assessment and listening to service users needs, information giving, referrals into other clinical services and safeguarding. The post holder will engage with service users on the MASH van in saunas and in community-based settings.

About MASH
Since 1991, MASH has been at the forefront of supporting women in and around Greater Manchester who are, have been or may start sex working and who are facing multiple disadvantage. We were founded as a social justice organisation, starting out as a grassroots, community led response to the HIV/AIDS crisis and we have continued to support women at the sharpest end of inequalities ever since.
Whilst the nature of sex work, the context in which we operate and the support we provide has changed dramatically over the last thirty years, one thing has remained constant: MASH continues to be a haven for some of the most marginalised women in Greater Manchester – women who fall through the gaps, are under served by mainstream services and face stigma, discrimination and multiple barriers to accessing the support they need. At MASH, we meet each woman where they are at and stay with them for as long as it takes for them to get to where they want to be. Crucially, our support is gender and trauma informed and responsive and we bring decades of experience of appropriately supporting women in ways which work for them.
